Carb Awareness Day is the greatest idea i've ever heard of.
I'm sick of Atkins. Being a vegetarian in a big town/little city wasn't easy in the first place. When my co-workers would throw potlucks and pre-mix meat in with the salad, I was annoyed, but I had the cookies to myself. When they decided to have the Christmas dinner at a Steakhouse, I got them back by making dead baby jokes through the whole thing. I don't work there anymore, but it's gotten out of hand. It's making me fucking sick.
I lost three pounds last week because I walked ten lousy miles, drank a bunch of water, and I (GASP) ate a bunch of good carbs! I had tempeh salad sandwiches on whole wheat bread three times, and they were all great. I even dared to eat a packet of Thai Kitchen noodles! I had toast with fruit and yogurt spread for breakfast, and this morning I dared to make French toast with light bread, egg whites, vanilla soy milk, and cooking spray. And even with veggie butter it still wasn't very fattening!
It's really not that hard to move things around in your diet so you lose weight and are healthier. Of course it's even easier to slide a couple of eggs and a pound of bacon down your throat and not exercise, but I prefer my way because my way, I don't have a heart attack in the next five years.
Now i'm gonna go eat my hippie breakfast and go for a walk.
