First topic: SG Burlesque Show: Chicago
So, this would happen to be my first encounter of the burlesque show and... It was alright. Nothing more, nothing less. Sadly, I was a bit let down by some of the performances, but what can ya' do? The opening band, Tsu Shi MaMiRe was so much better than I expected three, tiny girls from Japan to be. Their songs were so versatile, they touched on so many different genres, but then their high, Japanese voices wanted to make me stab myself in the ears.
Two years ago back in Indianapolis the burlesque show was 21+, so of course I couldn't make it. But I heard stories about the last tour and that this one was a thousand times better. Simply because last time it seemed like no one really knew what they were doing, but that sounds a bit more fun to me, Just all of the chaos and confusion, no real choreography or whatever.
The show itself last night, like I said was alright. There were three or four acts that really stood out to me as artistic and well-thought-out, but at times I felt like I should just be sitting down in a strip club. Which I didn't like one bit. The music was awesome, I heard everything from Tom Petty to Prodigy, so atleast the girls at ecletic in their taste of music.
Reagan was beautiful. Fractal looked completely business-eque behind the merch table. All of the girls were fabulous.
Just next time around, more art, less strip club.
P.S. - $10 for a poster? Psh.
