I'll bust a nut in your eye to show you where i come from!
As i take a shower, I'm listening to Eminem Presents the Re-up, and for the most part its pretty good for a mix tape. I gots no problem with it, and i can tolerate 50 Cent for a few tracks. But as i was litening to this and hearing Em's witty lines, A Tribe Called Quest popped in my head, then I started thinking about the good times of hip-hop music. Back when it was about hanging out with friends, politics, self consiousness and self empowerment. Basically, when hip-hop was fun to listen to. Now, the popular stuff that you listen to is about guns, sex, drugs......things that give hip-hop a bad rep and got me wondering why artists like Taleb Kweli, Mos Def, and Common arent main stream, they have a much more popular message. I mean, we still have people like Ludacris, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Nas, but they still dont get much rotation unless theres drama involved and then whatever positive message they may have is overshadowed. NEwayz, I'm just wishing hip-hop can just go back to they way it used to be. As for now, I'm with Nas.....
Late peoples!
