And here are the week's events in brief review:

Tuesday night, after my sister and I were invited to eat over at some random kids house (he apparently is in love with my sister), we went to the mall to get gelato. So I go up to the counter, and the girl who I have a crush on takes my order as well as my sister's. Lindsey bluntly says "I'm gonna go this way" and leaves. Here is the conversation I have with the girl, to the best of my recollection, while I was paying:

Her: So, how's it going?
Me: Fine, how are you?
Her: Good. It's been a slow day.
Me: When did you start work?
Her: At four.
Me: Oh, are you a student here?
Her: (a little flushed and smiling) Yeah, I am...at Hellgate. *Hellgate is a local high school*
Me: (smiling) Oh, alright.
Her: I'm a senior and I'm almost done, I'm almost done.
(some smiling on both accounts)
Her: So are you a student here too?
Me: I go to the University.
Her: Oh. So what are you studying?
Me: History.
Her: History is kind of boring. Do you think it is? Well probably not since that's what you are studying.
Me: Well, there's a vast difference from high school history and college history.
Her: (jokingly) Hey now.
(I think there was some more smiling and crap and then she finally handed me my credit card receit)
Her: So, um. what's your name?
Me: I'm Collin.
Her: Hi, (giggles) I'm Christine. (then blushes five shades of red).
Me: Well, it was nice talking to you.
Her: Yeah. Well I'm sure I'll see you around.
Me: Yeah, bye.
Her: Bye.

So, what the fuck? High school? Dammit. Give me advice.

In other news, there was this overblown drama concerning my intramural softball team and the roster. I gave the roster to KC, who then gave it to Justin, who gave it to Liz, who was supposed to have her friends sign it and then she would get it back to me, so I could have Gio sign it. Well, KC had to leave for a UM basketball trip and things got complicated. In the end, Gio didn't get on and our team name sucks.

Yesterday, I went in search to track down Liz to tell her about team practices and game dates. If you remember from last fall, I talked about her being "just absolutely beautiful." Well, nothing has changed. So I stop her just before she enters her German class and we exchange a few words and smiles. Yes, I am this lame.

Later in the day (yesterday), KC and I were throwing the football around and he told me some good news. Apparently in that very same German class, Liz was talking to her friend who sits behind her and KC lent his ears to a conversation that had these lines in it: "you know that guy I used to see right after this class all the time last semester? Well I finally talked to him just before this class-- he is sooooo cute."

Last semester I used to hang out in the hall after my Modern Italian History class, right before Humanities, waiting for KC to leave his German class that he had with none other than Liz. She would walk down the hall and maybe say "hi" to KC some days, but I never thought she recognized me.

I'm pretty dense so hopefully she was talking to her friend in class about me. And it's cool that she's on the softball team. I think the first team practice is to watch "Major League" together, because I'm gonna be the reincarnation of Lou Brown:

"Nice to meet you Hayes, the parking lot is right out there."
"I'm tired of this nickels and dimes stuff, I'm gonna get that old bitch on the phone [...] we're all out of towels, and I'm too old to go diving into lockers."

Seriously, the only KC and I are going to be doing is quoting that movie every game, every practice. Hopefully Liz will find in endearing.

Well, I'm trying to budget my time as of late. This weekend is pretty much devoted to studying for my Modern Latin American history midterm. Not fun.

Spring Break in Idaho, you jealous? I'm going to spend the majority of that reading de Tocqueville's "Democracy in America" as well as some Nietzsche and Freud for my term paper in 20th Century European Intellectual and Cultural history course. I mean, fuck relaxing, it's time to open my mind, and expand my growth.

So, has anyone thought, or come to the opinion that the new sets/girls just aren't even worth a glance? I dunno, and I'm not involved in the whole "looking at applicants" but shouldn't there be more to a suicidegirl than an occasional piercing and being from either Canada or California? Does every day have to have a "new girl?" Just get some of the classic sg's doing sets instead of clogging up the wheels with crap ass new girl sets. Isn't it a reflection of our (read: the members' community) disinterest that the sets just aren't worthwhile when a girl logs 110 comments...as opposed to some of the "veteran" girls getting over 300 comments? I know I'm not alone on this.

I like the fact that my lady situation is looking up.

Shit, I'm sorry, Collin, that's she's still in high school. Usually, my mottos with chicks are:

"If they ain't old enough to vote, they ain't old enough to matter."

and once they're of-age...

"If they're old enough to drink, they're old enough to think."

It sounds piggish and assholy, but statutory rape isn't something I want to gamble with, period. And the old enough to drink thing is just a matter of maturity-level preference, seeing that I'm 23 now.

As long as she's 18...
