December 1st. Let the celebration begin. I'm not much of a fan of November...don't know why, but I'm not. I love December though. It's not just Christmas, there are a lot of things that compile to form my love of the month. I like snow-- a lot. I like shovelling snow late at night from my driveway listening to GY!BE's "Yanqui U.X.O." I like plopping down on the couch and watching movies with a real fire going in the fireplace. I like seeing old friends (although I grow irritated with some who constantly call when I get back in town). I like cooking for Christmas and over the break in general. I love Christmas. When I was younger, it was all about the presents that I was receiving, I couldn't wait to tear into them. Now, I love giving people gifts and seeing the expression on their face. Most times they have good responses.
Tonight was awesome. I started the day off at three o'clock in the afternoon when I decided to drag my carcass out of bed. Lunch/dinner at Thai Spicey with KC. My order got messed up and they had to start all over again. By the time KC was done eating (which was abnormally quick) I got my order. It wasn't all that good.
Instead of playing the long and drawn out board game "Civilization: The Board Game," Josh, Andrew, Scott and I played LOTR: Risk. It was great-- mostly because I fucking owned that game tonight. Scott got raped throughout due to some revengence via the rest of us for his shitty play last time we got together and played Civilization. And with Scott getting killed and booted out of every territory, Andrew and I teamed up for a great alliance and thus reduced Scott to a few feeble units. When Andrew had to leave, Lauren took his place and did whatever I told her to do with her army. The late alliance between Josh and Scott was just that, late. I'm probably too fucking proud of this accomplishment, but for tonight, I owned, in more ways than total domination. Nearly three quarters of the map were under my control and Josh was reduced to his strangle-hold in Mordor. Finally, he just called it a game. I'm happy.
Time for bed.
