So on Sunday I bagged myself a game boy ORIGINAL at my local market for £15!
I ordered a couple of games off eBay, including donkey kong which arrived today - I am yet to play it!!
At work, I was getting excited every time someone mentioned my Instagram post about it. I got even more excited when a colleague said he had some old games he could bring in and I could buy! (He was selling them for a charity)
So he brings in a game case, and I rifled through a few game boy colour games that wouldn't work. Picked up rugrats, a car game, SUPER MARIO LAND. I opened another pouch and discovered an absolute treasure trove of POKEMON RED, silver & gold! 6 games and this guy wanted THREE OF MY ENGLISH POUNDS. The equivalent of a cup of coffee! I have him 20 as I felt awful. Pokemon red sells for £25 alone!
I have spent the entirety of my week playing pokemon, and am now so engrossed in the game, I find myself using phrases like 'critical hit!!' and 'a wild [insert name] appeared!' in my everyday life.
To top it off, I have finally moved into a house where I have a TV! Which means I can plug my N64 in and PLAY it after being out of action for 6 months. Including Zelda which always reminds me of the blackheart burlesque dance.
Fully aware this isn't a singular game so I cheated a little but this is the most exciting thing to happen to me this month! Let's all hang and have a 90's play off!
