the sonic near my house has male carhops that skate. The tables are adorned with plastic flower combinations and the oak trees surrounding the parking lot bring shady comfort. I think I will go back there again

i went through beauty school while i was still in high school. R.O.P. a program that was free. you learn nothing there, just enough to pass state board. from there youre on your own, as far as learning from experienced people or assisting and taking classes. if you can get into a salon that will apprentice you, youll never have to go to beauty school and they pay you min. wage, while you learn. it takes longer though. and studying for state board is all on your own time, usually cause theres no time for it at work. it took me a long time to be a color expert, hair cutting came natural for me. those are the major things. everything else like extensions, dreads, creative styles is a pluss to know, but you dont realy want to screw uip on color and cuts. the best way to learn would be to, once your licenced, work as an assistant for someone is good. or a salon that is real busy. some of the stuff that took me 5-7 years to get down, only took my assistant 1-2 years. i would be confident if i left her with all of my clientelle. i had no one to teach me, stuff till way later in my career. as far as the hair extensions that i do, you have to be certified to do them. people like it when your exclusive. if you can do a service many cant. you can look up greatlengths on the internet. i charge for a full head of extensions, $1,500 + i make a pretty good proffit. this is the recomended price by the company. not something i just made up. they last 5-6 months. i have about 10-15 regular clients for this. and i always pick up a few here and there for just special occasions, like weddings and such. if you do this whole hair thing, just dont be one of those people that get stuck working at super cuts or something. ill tell you what, men that do hair , its almost not fair, because women would prefere to go to a man over going to a woman to get their hair done. ive seen some men that arent that great, get paid high dollar because they dress nice, or for thier personality, or just cause a woman wants a man to touch them. its weird. ask me as many questions as u want xoxoxo-Aries

yea, i dont know anything about mississippi. do not go to a old lady salon!!! i dont know where would be closer for you to move to to be able to be in the right spot, or trendier spot. if thats all that there is around u then, u can go to beauty school there and come to cali. for some vidal sassoon training or new york. from there you could probably figure out where you want to live. if you dont want to move, then at least youll have great experience, for the future. there are alot of courses you can take, they are all just so expensive. look harder in your area, call the 800 #'s for sebastian, aveda, tigi, and see where they would refere u to in your area. sometimes the product companys know whats a good salon, cause they deal with them. sebastian salons are great, they are called "grand salons" they have classes every now and then. they are all about creativeness, not perciseness. so if u have an artist in you sebastians good for bringing it out.
