So another week has passed and like the majority of you the first few weekdays sucked because I was working, except Wednesday which I had off to watch Arsenal Vs. FC Barcelona*, but then came Friday and the long weekend
*Arsenal Vs.FC Barcelona was a really entertaining match to watch, for a neutral football fan, for every Gooner it was 45 minutes of despair followed by another 15 of disappointment. Then suddenly an hour into the game, the match shifted into Arsenal's favour, maybe this was fatigue on FC Barcelona's part or they shut off thinking they had won. Arsenal clawed they way back into the game, ending the first match 2-2, but unfortunately losing keys players ; Andrey Arshavin, William Gallas and our Captain. Cesc Fabgregas to injury.
Tonight was the second leg**, which I also got the day off work for, but ended up being not the only reason to have the day off***.
On Saturday the family went to my sister's apartment to give it a redecorate, personally I do not like the new wall colour, it is a bit too yellow for me but my sister likes it and that's what matters. What I did like was rearranging rooms as I think just doing that makes it look like a new room. After the redecorating we headed home and started cooking. We put together some homemade kebab and chips, complete with pitta breads and chili sauce - these were not homemade. Then sat down to watch a truly amazing Doctor Who episode, Steven Moffat is a great writer and really suits the Doctor Who universe, Matt Smith is a superb actor and his Doctor looks like he could be the best of the "new" Doctors, Amy Pond is another fiery redhead (like Donna Noble) and gorgeous . The opening sequence and music is certainly a grower, after a few vews / listens, I now like the darker side as it is hopefully what the series will be like now Steven is the Head Producer / Writer.
Monday I had a magical journey in the true Underland, beneath my house. We are getting Virgin Broadband and extending our Sky HD through to the other televisions in the house, so I had to go under the floorboards to move / set the necessary cables and connections. Whilst under there I met multi-legged creatures and even cat, which disappeared as quickly as it appeared to meow in my face, the cat later emerged covered in cobwebs.
(pictures will be post tomorrow as they are on my dads phone)
That evening I went to a gig that I was already extremely excited about simply because of the band, then got further excited when I realised the venue they were performing in, they I almost creamed my pants when I found out what album they were going to play in its entirety. On Monday night I was sitting in the Royal Albert Hall , watching Opeth perform the entire Blackwater Park album, followed by a track from each of their other albums to celebrate their twentieth anniversary. This was on par with the best concerts I have ever been to, I wont say it was better than any of them, as each was amazing in their own special way. But just imagine seeing one of your all-time favourite bands live, then to have them perform your favourite album of theirs in its entirety, followed by your favourite track from their remaining albums and all inside a building which its sole purpose is to make music flow perfectly around you.
***As mentioned above I had today (Tuesday) booked off from work, initially to watch the Arsenal game, but the week I booked the day off I got a letter in the post for a South Eastern Assessment for that morning. I know working as platform staff will not be the greatest of jobs, it will technically be like moving sideways from working Sainsburys shift work, but like any good job move this would be paying me much more than I am currently earning so I though "why not!?". Well I passed the assessment and will soon hear from South Eastern regarding an interview date / time. If I get the job I will be working at Charing Cross, which is pretty cool as it is an easy journey to / from, and even cooler one of my best mates works there as a supervisor
**Back to the Arsenal game against FC Barcelona. Simply put, Arsenal was completely outclassed, by one of the most on form teams in the World and by the greatest player in the World today (by a LOOONG way). On a high note Arsenal played very well, better than last week I feel, but when Lionel Messi is on form no one can stop him. I honestly hope they go onto the final, win and that Messi scores a hat trick - which I believe has never been done in a Champions League final.
Looking towards the future, on Friday I will be up town for a mates leaving drinks, should be fun but hopefully not too messy. In two weeks Sci-Fi-London 9 starts and as the festival comes to a close I will be flying out to Toronto, Ontario, Canada - which I have just booked my flights for
On a side note, there are two girls I like right now, but I do not know what to do about either as they are both good friends and I do not want to mess things up by saying how I feel without really knowing how they feel about me.
That is all I have to say for now
