FINALLY The Hodge HAS COME BACK!...to the in-ternet
I have been without the internet for a week. I know this is not that long a time, but I am currently reliant on it for job applications and interview details, so it was really annoying having to find another internet source just to use for a few minutes at a time.
So I passed my Retail Management Level 3 NVQ examination and as expected the classes did not help me pass it. This was a shame, as many people in my class seem to understand the course very well, a lot more than I did and they did not pass. I believe the main reason I passed was down to having previous retail experience and therefore understanding how things work. Despite completing the course, Twin have still been very helpful with trying to get me a job, but sadly I seem to be in the same boat as before where I am too qualified for some jobs and not qualified enough for others.
Sci-Fi-Londons Oktoberfest was awesome. Sadly I missed out on Fridays event at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, but I hear it went really well, and that they are happy to host another event for SFL next year. As always the All-Nighter was crazy fun, but funnily not as crazy as before, as many people bought tickets for the screenings but never actually showed up. Normally the event is sponsored in part by Red Bull energy drinks, but this time they dropped their sponsorship, and in its replacement we had a natural energy drink called Attitude which was later nicknamed Green. This drink smelt awful, taste better than it smelt (but was still dreadful) and the after taste was even worse.
The dates for next years Sci-Fi-London 9 event have been confirmed. Wednesday, 28 April Monday, 03 May 2010 and I cannot wait to volunteer again. This time I would rather attend the All-Nighter rather than work through it. I was thinking it would be an awesome idea to arrange a SGUK meet up, as Monday 3 May is a Bank Holiday, but that is if people could handle watching 4-5 films in a row and decide which screening to go to.
That is all for now
