So, I woke up this morning and read the paper and there was an article about two former students of mine from when I worked at the High school until this year. Apparently they were out joy riding and ran their vehicle into a tree at excessive speed splitting the car in three pieces. Both dead. One was a girl,15 who was in my study hall and attended the special ed classes. The other a boy,19, who graduated last year. What a fucking waste. So many kids have died or been killed in the time I statrted working there years ago. It never gets easier even though I am more composed externally. One can never get used to this kind of tradgedy.One should'nt.
Then later in the day I was running errands and right in front of the place I work there was a terrible accident where a huge semi had run into an SUV completely smashing in the front end. The CHP was there and an ambulance on the way.
As I left the post office and noticed crowds of people from offices and including my work place huddled and watching the accident as if they were in line for the new Star Wars film.
I really need to get out of here. Move my family to another area.Oregon is really sounding nice. I was born here in this county and have lived here most of my years except when I was running around Europe and Canada as well as other parts of the US.
This used to be paradise and I thought I would live here forever. As many enlighted and good people that live here and the amount of activist movements for change. There are so many small minded,angry,and frightened hillbillies,rednecks and conservative fucks it makes me sick.
I know there are people like this everywhere,but, I think I need to relocate my family as my roots are slowly being uprooted.
This area used to be layed back and I nremember when you could leave ytour house unlocked or the keys in your car.People smiled and there was a sense of community. It has been snuffed out by people that have more money then they can spend made by the efforts of others and everyone is in a damn hurry to get nowhere.
It feels like their is a storm coming.
Time to get back to our grass roots. We need change and it need to start now.
Everyone CAN learn to be kind to each other. The alternative is not going to have a happy conclusion.

I am sorry that you have expierenced so much death relating to young people. I deal with death everyday, as it is my occupation and I am a mortuary science major. Car accidents, suicides, adn children are the worst for me. I have to remain fully composed for the ploce, medical examiner, and the families, but it rips me apart sometimes to see a 20 year unrecognizably broken because they decided to speed down a narrow one way street. IF you don't mind me asking, where are you located, CA? I live in Oregon for the "school year" while in college, but am in my hometown Seattle between Spring and Fall. I would suggest Oregon or Washington. Washington is far more layed back, and even more liberal than Oregon. Oregon is beautiful adn there are AREAS one can live in where one does not need to lock their house up everytime they leave or enter. Of course, I have a bias with Washington though, I know it better.
