It's finally dawning upon me: I'm going to Haiti for Christmas. I've been so wrapped up with my two jobs and fundraising that I lost sight of what I'm doing it all for.
I wonder what Christmas in Haiti will be like. I doubt they'll have Christmas trees nor Santa. Where do you find a pine tree in the Caribbean, and who the Hell wants to wear a Santa suit in the heat? I wonder how the Voodoo culture affects Christian celebrations. Are their conflicts in the traditions in each religion? Do they wrap gifts? Do they even have the means to buy gifts?
