My new roommate is one of Ralph Nader's personal assistants. She's young, artsy, loves my cats, and even brought her own kombucha culture from Virginia, her home state. We have in common a ridiculously intense work ethic, and she also did volunteer work in Peru. Neat.
I'm trying to gauge how well she'll take it when she figures out some of my part-time jobs. So far I have my kinky stuff hidden in my closet, literally and figuratively. Gone are the S&M magnets from the fridge and the diagram that details the anatomy of a Mistress. I told her I model and perform, but I kept it very vague. For now she seems very open minded.
We'll see what happens in April when a kinkster friend from Canada stays with us. I'm not sure how'll she take it if he walks out in a latex mask on a leash.
Until then, I've already gotten schooled on some of Virginia's politics. I had the right answer when she asked if I vote. I'm sure I'll get schooled on a lot more, albeit from Nader's perspective, but it should make some entertaining dinner conversations. I am finding this situation highly amusing, and it's just Day One.
=-)

stiles:
Ralph's an interesting guy. Sometimes he gets it right, sometimes he's off the mark, but he does seem to have the public's well-being consistently in mind.
