French class started today. Two of my friends and I enrolled in a community college course that meets once a week on Saturdays. I hadn't heard from one of my friends for awhile, so I assumed she wasn't going to make it. However, when my second friend and I boarded the Metro we happened to sit literally next to friend #1. I didn't even notice her sitting there until she said something to me. What are the chances?
Anyhow, class went very well. Our instructor is American but she lived in Paris for some time. We learned the basics: alphabet, greetings, salutations, and a few things for travelers. I have a lot to learn even though I picked up a bit in my travels to Europe and Morocco. I look forward to learning more.
After class I took my friends to Scoops, a popular ice cream parlor down the street from the school. Neither had been there, and both are lactose intolerant. I promised them that there'd be vegan options, and I was right. I had pistachio-hewenwiezen, chocolate Guiness, and pale ale malt (I didn't have breakfast so I was allowed). Friend #1 had vegan oreo caramel and salty chocolate, while #2 had all salty chocolate. They were in heaven and so happy to be eating something that actually tasted like ice cream, and I was happy for them.
Afterwards, we took the train back to my place and we bid farewell to friend #1 as the train departed.
What a good day despite the rain. Now I need to scurry out of here. Mistress Danielle and Mistress Madelaine are working the night shift tonight, as am I. I am so excited that we are all working together tonight. I love my girl friends!
