Er. This is awkward. I have been working overtime for the last two months to avoid actually setting up my new apartment to feel like "home," and to avoid facing the fact that I am living as a single person for the first time in my life. The last time I lived as a single person was in New Hampshire where I went to high...

Um. I was going to write a big post about my trip to New York this weekend (saw Equus, it was great). but. then I came home last night and stayed up until 1 am to watch the red sox lose. time to get ready for work
YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ellsbury's beautiful catch, Jason Bay's home run, Veritek's sacrifice bunt and Papi's RBI...
All of that, and my favorite moment of the Red Sox/Angels game was when Angel's starting pitcher Lackey realized he was being taken out of the game and the camera focused on him just in time to see him scream "FUCK!!!"
Phils up, Sox up! :-)
P.S. didn't go to see...

Yes , it was a great game! Of course it wouldn't be Philly sports if Brad Lidge didn't give us all a heart attack in the ninth inning.
Go Phils !

He'll be sorely missed. An icon of cinema. What's your favorite Paul Newman movie?
To answer your question, I build libraries for a living. Exciting stuff, I know. Basically we come in and build the shelves and furniture that go in libraries (compact shelving, study carrels, circulation desks, etc.) up and down the east coast. Mostly upper east coast. I've done jobs anywhere from Connecticut to Arkansas. Most of our work seems to be found in Virginia though, don't really know why. Right now I'm in Newport News, VA. I found this job because one of my best friends' dad is the boss. So I knew everyone already. It's slightly labor intensive but nothing too bad. And I get to travel the country a bit.
What do you do?
PS Free drunk is the best kind of drunk.

A simple check reveals that you are a registered nurse. I know that because it says so right up above.
Still... favorite Paul Newman movie. I must know. And if it isn't Cool Hand Luke, it should be.

Utterly nothing to say. Time to go to bed. Worked 3pm-7a yesterday, so today my brain is still wired to stay awake until sunrise. Overtime is ok, pay is good. Messing with neurochemicals, not so good.

its like 5 AM and this is the latest i've stayed up (willingly and happily) in a long time. I might start doing work at a night club, so i may have to get used to it... But not being able to have some kind of stable sleep cycle definitely sucks.
and Daniel Craig was ok, but he just didn't feel "Bond" enough to me. I don't think he had the suave. I think Brosnan was probably better (though I was too young to appreciate acting when he was still makin them)

I did some work on my DVR yesterday. Fringe, True Blood, Entourage, and The Office. Still have to watch Heroes... I should find some time tomorrow to do so. Fringe is pretty cool. It's about investigating fringe science and what is known in the show as "the pattern." Astral projection, teleportation, dark matter, ghost networks... those sorts of things are what the show deals with. I tell people that like Heroes that they would like Fringe too. It's got some sci-fi elements and the same pace as Heroes.
My travels have taken me back home this weekend. I worked in Virginia for 2 weeks, so I got to come home and get drunk with my friends again. Then back on the road for another 2 weeks. It's a cycle, of sorts. Did you do anything interesting this weekend?

ARRRRGGGHHH!!!! I missed the "Heroes" season premiere!!! At my parents house watching the stupid baseball games. God I hope I remembered to record it at home. *sigh* at least there is new "House" and "Eureka" tomorrow. Blech, when did I get so obsessed with TV? *shrug*
Currently reading "Goldfinger" by Ian Fleming and loving it. 'Book' Bond is so much more interesting than 'Movie' Bond,...

Don't worry, I missed Heroes too. I'm on the road and the picture in my hotel room on NBC was utter shit. Couldn't watch it on that. Asked my roommate back home to DVR it for me. And that's a show I actually watch. One of MAYBE three. I have a hard time tying myself down to television shows, as I just feel like there should be something more important for me to be doing.
That being said, I decided to add another serialized tv drama to my list of must see shows this fall season. Fringe. Right after House on Tuesdays (actually, it probably JUST ended, but made sure that was being taped too as I missed the first ten minutes or so). Wow, for someone who doesn't watch much TV, I've sure got a shit load of TV to watch this weekend.
And another wow. I read Goldfinger in high school. Wrote a thesis paper on it (which is fancy-speak for a glorified book report). Never saw the movie, and I live with a gigantic James Bond flick fan. Gotta be honest, don't remember any of the book, outside of the B I got on the paper.

i dunno... James Bond without Sean Connery sounds like bread without flour to me!
No good deed goes unpunished sometimes. I had a little rant planned, but it's not worth it. Suffice to say, I worked 32 hrs overtime in the last two weeks, and am getting moderately paid for it. I have two more full free days off, I'm eating dark chocolate ice cream (TJ's has this wierd gourmet chocolate pack), and drinking gin and ginger ale. Nothing...

My parents are adorable. I've actually been told this by other people, they are short very round little people (like myself unfortunately) and they just radiate this gentle aura of comfort and happiness. I bring this up because right now they are in Orlando. FL because they have a time share there. My oldest cousin, Rosemary, came to join them and brought her four year...

I really like the picture your talking about in your photo album, I'm completely incapable of doing any type of effect make up, I can't do it! I've always wanted to be able to and it never works! All of your black and white pictures are sooo adorable!

I love love love hand developing film. It makes me feel so creative and awesome, because even when it's not perfect to you it is because it takes so much skill and timing! It's totally worth it to invest in your own dark room, especially since everything is so digitalized. I loved taking photography classes, I took them for a few years. I kick myself for not sticking with it a little more!
But iPhones and Photobooth are pretty fun too!

wanted to post the SNL video with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as Palin and Clinton, 's not working. nuts.
aaronjh:
Thanks for the add.
And I find it hard to believe that Amy Poehler's leaving SNL. At least that's what I heard. Not that I watch it anymore (just don't find it nearly as funny as previous years). But I try to catch the random episode here or there if Wilco or the Shins or somebody cool is the musical guest.
You should know that I don't post to my other blog all that often. And when I do, it's usually something about an Arsenal FC score or some kickass comic I just finished. But I've got to say, I'm glad at least SOMEONE has checked it out. Thanks.
By the way, I really dig the art in your profile picture. Mind if I ask who did it?

I think if I was you I would go to a bar and watch the games...at least you have conversation starters.
On a happier note, Sox are up 1-0 and Phils go to LaLa Land up 2-0.
