Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for your continued patience and support as our dev team works to improve the functionality of the livestreaming feature.
You may have noticed some small changes, as both a model streaming and as a viewer of streams, made in November 2021. The options as a streamer are now WEBRTC or TCP
WEBRTC -- the default setting, and same method as previous streaming, is done in real time
TCP -- the new option, which has a few seconds lag to buffer, may make the stream more reliable and smooth. Important to note for models using this option: if you open a different tab on your browser while streaming with TCP, it will pause your stream. All of your viewers will get notified that it is paused.
Models must select their choice before starting the stream. Once the stream begins, you cannot toggle between the two. You would need to end your stream and start again to choose a different streaming method.
For viewers, you also have updates on how you can view the stream. If you are watching livestreams via the app version of the site, you will have a gear/cog icon on the top left to change your viewing settings to either WEBRTC or TCP. WEBRTC is the default. If you switch to TCP, you can change it and will automatically reconnect to the stream you were viewing (this will give you a few seconds buffer). If the model livestreaming is using TCP as well, you will have a combined few more seconds buffer which should make the stream even more smooth! We are working on bringing the viewing options to the desktop version of the site soon, too. For now, this feature is only available via the app version of the site.
Hopefully this helps to stabilize the livestreaming and makes it a more enjoyable feature for the community. Thank you for your patience and understanding while the site continues to improve!
