So today I thought I’ll pick a topic from @bloghomework because it’s perfect to introduce myself a little more... here are 10 random facts about me:
1) I have a Masters degree in Political sciences, social sciences and educational sciences - right after I finished my degree I decided to work as a waitress and made my parents very unhappy... (luckily they got over it)
2) I’m a certified Barrista - yes I love coffee that much ☕️☕️☕️
3) I once made the first place in a bund cake baking competition 🍰
4) I’m the oldest of 3 siblings - yet the most immature 😂
5) My Birthday is July 19th - my sign is cancer... every time I read about typical cancer characteristics it freaks me out how accurate it is... there must be something to it! I best get along with scorpios by the way... all my favourite people are scorpios or other water signs 🦂
6) I have very bad skin... I struggled with acne all my life... I never leave the house without makeup (I feel very insecure and not myself without it) and I don’t care if people tell me I’m beautiful without it ( I am not, and I don’t need kind words to make me feel better!) - wearing make up gives me security and I don’t do it for other people I do it for myself... and that is the same for all imperfections/insecurities - if you yourself feel uncomfortable in your skin it doesn’t matter if anyone tells you you look beautiful. But if you feel comfortable you own it no matter what flaws you might have!
7) I think I’m funny and have a great sense of humour - unfortunately it doesn’t translate very well into English... so most of my Canadian friends don’t think I’m funny (not even sure why they like me 😅 maybe Canadians are just too friendly to not like somebody) - at least I can laugh about myself and I don’t take myself too seriously... I guess that’s a plus...
8) A few years ago I volunteered as a social worker in a township in Namibia - it changed my view of the world and made me feel very humble for everything I have in my life... especially health and small moments of joy and happiness
9) My favourite animals are meerkats - I love all animals but meerkats are very social, they cuddle in big piles on top of each other, they look out for each other, they are smart and yes of course they are super cute ...
10) I spent most of my money on food and tattoos - well tattoos are very expensive obviously... but being able to buy good, healthy high quality food and cook delicious meals for friends just makes me so happy! Seeing on somebody’s face the enlightenment about a delicious bite of something I prepared is food for my soul!
