With that said, I then began to contemplate the ills contained in the food products of today. What toxins are ingested on a regular basis without being given much, if any, thought. For instance, most of the candies found in our stores today lack nutrition of any kind. Pure sugar, we ingest these foods regularly and end up with terrible diseases and conditions because of it. Obesity and diabetes are two conditions that are at an all time high in the US.
I have always had a hard time with meat consumption. The US is guilty of grossly over producing meats. This is mainly due to the fast food industry. Now before I go and crawl up on my soapbox I will just say this; The meat industries often have inhumane practices in order to produce insanely large amounts of meat every year. The raising of these animals effects the environment by polluting waters, destroying open lands, spreading disease, among other things. The animals are slaughtered at such a pace that doesn't allow for proper safety for workers, and the animals will often go through slaughter after not being properly stunned or killed. For example, cows have been skinned alive, pigs boiled alive (screaming), and cattle have continued down the conveyor, hanging by a leg, alive and struggling until the fall from the height to their death. So...don't eat hot dogs?? Or at least know your meat. And yes I am at times a complete hypocrite.
And now corn... Why corn? you may ask. Well, you may because everyone does. It is true that corn is a great food in many ways. It's a whole grain and we all know we don't eat enough of that. However, corn farms (intending on being converted into biofuels) are now starting up in other countries to the exclusion of food crops. The downside to corn as of lately is that as these areas are being buried by corn fields, the people are starving or suffering from malnutrition.
Shots from the shoot:
Katrina posed fantastically for me with a twizzler noose, which I badly braided, hanging round her lovely neck. This is the end shot just as the rope broke.
Now Jeannine has always been a pleasure for me to shoot. A great model no matter what sort of faces she's making. After I had her lying dead on the table with a hotdog hanging out of her mouth for over 30 minutes I was finished and so was she, as you can tell from these photos...
