K. I've switched cities and I'm looking for some new jobs. I've been 2.5 months alcohol free. All I have to do now is repair the blood circulation holes in my brain and avoid getting seriously depressed ever again. I think I have it handled this time. Lol. I have a plan, it involves lots of exercise, out doors, and organic food.
I'm off Prozac and all other pharmaceuticals and I'm getting my mmj card this week. I think I may have found a part time job at a dispensary as a bud tender, so that's fun I'm also applying to some neurology offices as a part time lab tech... I would love to get to play with brain scans!!
I learned a lot about the effects of drugs on the human brain while I was in rehab. Turns out long-term, repeated use of any neurotransmitter mimic, suppressant, or stimulant, can cause holes in the blood circulation patterns in your brain. It's like you're making certain parts of your brain numb. The different types of drugs cause different patterns of blood deprivation and take different processes to repair. This includes caffeine, nicotine, and mj, and of course prescribed drugs. I got to look at some SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) scans of brains of various drug users. These scans show the surface of the blood circulation of your brain, by injecting your blood with a substance that emits gamma rays and images it as it flows through your brain. The one of the H user was pretty scary, I'm glad I quit that 8 years ago!! I was surprised that the coffee and cigarettes user's brain was so bad!! Same with the mj smoker, even just 4 times a week was pretty bad, with how I smoke it's got to be awful!! Lol. But seriously, at least I'm not using benzos, SSRI's or MAOIs!! Those things are so much worse for your brain actually!! As with most drugs they have interactions with your serotonin processes, which become very addictive. Where as pot directly interacts with your endocannabinoid receptors which just slow down the triggering of action potentials in your brain. Plus pharmaceuticals are made with inorganic chemicals, so I just don't trust them.
I figure you can repair the holes by over oxidizing your blood with ozone water and boosting your circulation with ginkgo. As long as you aren't in taking other circulation blocking chemicals (food additives) then it should work with a well rounded organic diet and intense exercise. That's the plan anyways... We'll find out if it works. You also have to take vitamins at certain times of day to stimulate the production of neurotransmitters, which you've ruined through drug use.
Well, still no science category to put this under... I could keep going on and on about this stuff!! I think a neurology office would be perfect for me!
Anyway, back at rehab I actually found religion too, lol. It's my own religion, called Urchinism. I came up with it when I was 12. I learned in rehab that belief in something is so very important. I have mostly shamanistic beliefs. It's true, it doesn't matter what you believe, just that you believe. If you think about it, which I do a little to much of, lol. It makes sense in the evolution of the human brain. There must be a region in our brain for belief, because that is how we evolved. Around 200,000 years ago is when it is thought that both consciousness and religion began in human history (or at least that's the science the last time I checked... it changes so quick, lol). That is when we started burring the dead. Fire and clothing came long before this, our evolutionary ancestors actually did those things. But the homo sapien brain (totally human) came around the time that our diets changed to omnivour (we started eating meat), and when we started burring the dead. So if the major brain development happened at the same time as religion, there must be a place for it in our brain... possibly meant as a way to explain our new found self awareness and consciousness...?? The why doesn't matter! What matters is that there is a place in our brains for it and if you don't have belief then you feel empty inside. So I'm a born again Urchinist, lol!!!
Wow, I do yap a lot. But I've moved to a new city and don't have any friends or a job yet... It's been kinda lonely, haven't really had anyone to talk to. I'm such a quite and boring person by myself... lame! My ex's were all rather loud, with tv, video games, and music and such. It used to get on my nerves when I was doing homework, but I kinda miss having it around. Just another person around really. But that's ok, I'll get used to it.

Good to hear about all your research about brain and addiction and finding something you believe in.Caffiene is def the most widely used drug. You still in CO? What are you doing to be active... hiking.. rock climbing, biking?
