I find myself stressing the point to every patient i approach now that, Yes, i am a student, and if they want to wait for a doctor to take their sample thats totally their right, and im really ok...

Survived my first week of clinical phase!

And have yet to make too big of a tit outta myself....Well apart from one drastically failed attempt at venepuncture (luckily the registrar was nice, and the patient was pretty much unconcious throughout...), stuttering a half assed answer to a very sweet little old lady about 'why was her heart so big anyway?' (without telling her she was...

Just finished cooking (and consuming) my first ever Sunday roast. Garlic butter chicken, stuffed, and served with roast tattys n neeps, and broccoli - im so sickeningly proud of myself. To early to to brag about not causing any kind of food poisoning, but i have at least managed not to attract attention from the local emergency services or concerned neighbours smile

Happy Mothers Day to...

Must stop this bloody medicine lark and devote more time to my internet commitments.

Actually im not sure what would be sadder- 14 hours a day online or 14 hours a day in school....hmmm....well i suppose if 6 of those school hours could be in the pub across the road form the med school....

Anyway, diary stuff, diary stuff...oh! I passed first year (by some...

Trying my hand at fundraising recently...went surprisingly well compared to most of my half assed schemes but im attributing our relative success to the input of some very organised friends.

We did Notts GEMs first ever Wear it Pink day in aid of breast cancer research- and managed to get them a fair bit for a small school. Hard to believe you can raise money...

Wow, 10 weeks since i last had anything to write about. God i feel like a loser.

Currently knee deep in the last essay ill ever write for this degree, and, being a Bsc student and therefore in the rather fortunate position of not having essays often, id forgotten just how much i loathe them.

Most of my friends have already 'checked out' of this...
