I miss being a kid. I miss climbing trees and wearing underoos and wrestling with my brother. I miss the days when the hardest decision I had to make was when my dad took us kids to Larry's Ice Cream Parlor. Rainbow sherbert or strawberry ice cream? That depended on whether or not I was allowed to have the waffle cone (waffle cone = strawberry).
Now that I am old, I have a humbling decision to make that has nothing to do with frozen desserts: is it better to be homeless and destitute in LA or to move back into my parents' home in Florida?
Life should be like the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. You know, when you didnt like the ending, you could just turn back to page 58 and make everything different... better.

Please please PLEASE don't say you're old, cuz that would make me old too. Someone told me life begins at 30..I'm still waiting! It is depressing watching friends "grow up" all around you and feeling like you're still futzing around like a confused high school student. Ooops, sorry, didn't mean to project my life onto yours.
Sounds like you do have an important decision to make. Going back to the rents is certainly extreme, but there's no shame in it. Sometimes you need to jump start your life in order to put things into perspective and consider what is important to you...and you need to do it around people that make you comfortable. Whatever you do, get the heck OUT of So Cal -- I say this as a born and bred Californian!!!
Oh, thanks for the kind comment in my journal. I'm so damn happy about my new job...can't wait for Monday! Good luck on your hunt too!
I don't have advice on for you on the where-to-live thing (and you shouldn't even listen if I did) but it sounds like a tough, choose-your-own adventure decision if there ever was one.
