Thank you for all the nice comments on this Island set that @gossip shot for me in Portugal this summer. I took a mad notion just before my 30th birthday, after not shooting anything for a couple of years so quite nice that it wasn't a total flop, though that would have been quite funny too and the nice thing is I don't think I would have minded... But as it stand I appreciate that people take the time to write something so thank you for that :-)
It was such a beautiful place, pure white sand and blue Atlantic Ocean and rosy pink sunsets.
I went for a walk on the beach myself that evening and the pastel colours were so beautiful that I ran back to find gossip. @discordia , @mendacia and @aeterna were also there. They are so funny and sweet and had me laughing all the time. I have a habit of being very antisocial at home but when I go on these occasional SG trips I always have the nicest time, being around so many women is such a treat. Each person I have met has been just amazing, all in different ways. I think the greatest thing SG has given me is to love and appreciate and to try to understand my fellow human woman more that ever.
I did a couple of shoot indoors on that trip and remember feeling quite weird and artificial but when I got outside for this one I realised I had found my place which is certainly in nature with the elements to support my body. There is nothing like being naked in the sea or sand or forest.
The last couple of weeks I've been devouring books again, I just finished The Blood of Others by Simone de Beauvoir, nearly finished A Woman Speaks by Anais Nin and about to start A Girl is a Half-formed Thing by Eimer McBride which will be one of the first contemporary novels I've read in I don't know how long.
Trying to unattach myself from reading too much about Scottish and UK politics at the moment. Still disappointed about the referendum but moving on and seeing what can be done with the way things are now. I hope you're all well. Thank you for the Sonnets too x
