Thank you for providing the contrast to that last journal entry with all the great and kind messages! I know I haven't written back to everyone and I feel bad but I'm so short on time right now and I keep forgetting who I've replied to when I do try! I hope you know that I read every message and appreciate them immensely even if I cant always respond.
The reason I'm so busy at the moment is because I've started studying again already and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Now that I've graduated and have my MA in fine art I have decided to do something completely different enter into the incredible world of science! I'm taking A-level biology through a self study institution with the hope of applying for a BSc in Natural History and Wildlife Biology the following year or one of the various similar options such as Biology with Ornithology. It may seem a big change and rather strange considering I've been studying Fine Art for the last six years but it makes perfect sense to me. All my work is based around specimen collecting, taxidermy and nature and that as an interest really over-took any (small) desire I may have had to be part of the art world in the last few years. I want to work with nature, birds and conservation but I also hope to continue with my paintings and photographs with that new scientific background. There is a long tradition and relationship between those disciplines however so maybe it makes more sense than at first it seems to.
I'm finding the biology A-level really interesting, there is a lot of biochemistry to begin with so it's quite hard but I'm getting into it. I think it's going to be a really good contrast for my brain having been immersed in language and visuals for so long, I hope I'm up to it though! I'll have exams for it in January and June and I'll be applying for the new degrees at the end of this year if all goes according to plan. In the mean time I have to look for a job, I need to work for the year to start saving up some money in order to study so I've begun to look. This will be exciting too, I was working weekends in the same place for the last four years and finished up there a few weeks ago so somewhere completely new will be refreshing. I'm hoping I can do some kind of caring work or auxiliary nursing because it would make me really happy to be doing something to help people.
Well I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the summer and thanks again for the reassuring words and messages xx
P.S. If anyone is interested, I'm selling some set costumes in the SG Sales group here, including this corset from the Strange Creatures set that Cherry shot for me.
