Greetings, fellow Halloween enthusiasts of SG land! 🎃👻 Join us as we venture into the eerie and bone-chilling tale of the Rua do Arvoredo Crimes in the heart of Porto Alegre, Brazil – my beloved hometown.
Picture a picturesque street, steeped in history and hiding a malevolent secret. In the 1860s, Rua do Arvoredo became the stage for a series of enigmatic disappearances involving young women that sent shivers down the bravest of spines. Enter José Ramos, the infamous "Vampire of Niterói," who ensnared and terrorized his victims, draining their very lifeblood and even indulging in unthinkable acts, including gruesome rumors of sausages made from his victims. Though justice prevailed, and Ramos was sentenced to life behind bars, the chilling legacy of Rua do Arvoredo persists.
Today, on this very street, you'll find a cafe shop that transports you back to those spine-tingling days. Btw, this is me there, I truly recommend this place if you ever visit Porto Alegre. Step inside and feel the echoes of history, where you can savor a cup of coffee and contemplate the unsettling past that lies beneath the cobblestone streets. Have a spooktacular Halloween, filled with thrills, chills, and perhaps a sip of macabre nostalgia! 🌕🦇🕷️🕸️🌃
