It's been announced that a Spotify application has been released for the iPhone (and some other mobile phones). This basically means that if I choose to pay a 9.99 subscription I will have access to everything on Spotify wherever my laptop or phone can get internet, which is basically everywhere nowadays.

Does this mark the beginning of the end of actually buying music to keep?...

Thats an interesting point, I too must be getting past it, cos I still like to own the cd's but at the same time, I see where your coming from here, many kids today like to just download and swap files with their friends.

I dont think its a bad thing, but if it means the end of album art is in sight, that will be a shame. Also I think that it will not be so special waiting for a new release when our fave bands are announcing them, cos we dont have to nip to the shop or even order online, now we can pre-order a download lol

On Luke Haines' last album, he penned a tune called 'The Heritage Rock Revolution' on which he takes a typically Haines-esque swipe at the number of 60s and 70s rockers doing the rounds on the gig scene. It's a cracking tune, but one can't help thinking that Haines, like myself, probably has more than a passing affection for such acts (not that the cranky fucker...

Hello cherubs. Miss me?

Yes, after an enforced absence, due to boring old real life getting in the way of the fun stuff, Im back to force my opinions right down your throats. Feel the joy!

But enough of the half-arsed sexual innuendos. You all wanna know what I'm writing about today don't you? Well as it happens, I went to see Focus last night...

Is there no limit to how low these cunts can go? Recognising that they've turned int soft-rock shite since 2001, they dig up a load of Edwards' scrapbooks and take them to Electrical Audio (you live in big fucking mansions and you're signed to Sony, you stupid fuckers, you're fooling no-one!) to record them. But the thing about Electrical Audio is, not even Steve...

As much as I love Liverpool (and oh, I love it so) it's sometimes good to get away from it for a while. One of the downsides of living in a great place, as opposed to visiting it occasionally, is that all the good stuff (bars, coffeeshops, bookstores, crack dens, blah blah blah) gets lumped in with the shiteness of everyday life. A change was...

When it comes to music, some bands never know when to pack it in. That's why Manic Street Preachers are still plugging away despite the fact that it's been over a decade since they released anything worth listening to. But I have a fatal weakness. I can't let go. For this reason I'm still buying Manics albums, still wanking myself silly when minor-league Britpop acts...

SHE FUCKING SLIPPED
SHE FUCKING SLIPPED AND WAS PULLED UP
FROM THE BLOODSTAINED ICE
AND AWAY FROM THE NIGHT BUS NONCES
SHE FUCKING FELL DOWN
AND FOUND SOMETHING SWEETER
THAN THE ROTTEN LIMITED STUDS
THAT SOMETIMES STANK OUT THE BED
BUT DON'T LET THE SLIDING WORM THAT STARTS
SOMEWHERE BELOW YOUR STOMACH
STRETCH OUT
AND GO DESERT DEEP
OR SOON YOU'LL BE TIPPING TABLES
AGAIN

The photos are awesome.

I've just been watching Barack Obama's Berlin speech on BBC News. The guy is most definitely an accomplished speaker - but will he walk the walk as well as talking the talk?

Ultimately I suppose it doesn't really matter. It's a choice of two for our friends in America and he's got to be better than the Oven Chips guy (haha! geddit?!). But I...
