Come this time of year, I enjoy looking back at the previous 12 months and reminiscing on good and bad times.
There have been many good times this year. As mentioned in my previous entry, in the absence of Glastonbury Festival, I attended Glade with several fine friends and had a wondrous time. It was also my privilege to see concerts by bands who I thought had gone for good - My Life Story & Marion. It was also a pleasure to see many of my other favourite groups in a live setting, including Smaller, Divine Comedy, Super Furry Animals, WHiTEHOUSE, Strangelove's Patrick Duff, Zutons, Goldie Lookin Chain and many many more. All of them spent in the company of friends and loved ones.
Speaking of friends, I had a very special visit from two American buddies, Liz and Steph, which was a rare treat. Considering the amount of people that would have liked to meet those two, I considered myself duly honoured!
And of course there are those moments which, in themselves, may seem nothing special, but when looked back on you realise their worth. Shared bottles of wine, 3.00am cigarettes sat up late, shooting the shit. You woudn't want to be without those times.
Next year will undoubtedly bring another haul of treats. Concerts, festivals, galleries, museums, parties, good times all. Bring it on, I say, for life, my friends, is there for the taking and well worth living!
