So this past evening me and Subrosa hosted pubquiz at the bar on my block. See how you rank up:
NC-17 Rated Films
NC-17 Rated Films
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
This category concerns films that some cut of which were rated NC-17. In many cases these films were released to theaters with an edited R rated version, then to DVD with an uncut unrated version, since unrated films are actually considered more acceptable than NC-17 rated ones. Some were retroactively rated NC-17.
Q1. According to director Mary Harron, this film received an NC-17 rating based on its depiction of the main character's emotionless menage a trois with two prostitutes, but the ratings board had no objection to the slaying of a naked prostitute via a chainsaw dropped from the top of a flight of stairs. The film is based on an original novel by the same name, one of two film adaptations by this author to receive an NC-17. Name Mary Harron's film and the author of the original novel.
Q2. This film features no nudity, no explicit sex, and received an NC-17 rating for "sexual content involving teens," but the film maker contends that the rating is entirely due to "gay sexual content involving teens." The film was originally conceived as a teen movie and involves a then-sane Natasha Leone going to "sexual redirection camp."
Q3. This film is one of few films that probably deserve an NC-17, as beautiful as it is. This color coded film takes place mostly in a single restaurant, opens with a shot of a brutal beating and ends with a scene involving cannibalism. Extra point if you can name the director.
Q4. This film, which shares a name with a more recent award winner, features a main character with the same name as the author of the book it is based on. The film features explicit straight, lesbian, and gay sex and stars Rosanna Arquette as a sexy amputee. Extra point for the director.
Q5. This film, for which the NC-17 rating was created, features Maria de Madeiros having an affair with both Uma Thurman and Fred Ward. The diary that the film was based on was written by an author whose collection of erotica was later made into yet another NC-17 film. Name the Maria de Madeiros film and the author of the original diary.
Q6. This director has received an NC-17 for three of his films, all of which star Mink Stole and two of which star Divine. Name the director, bonus points for each of the three films.
Q7. This documentary about the Motion Picture Association of America received an NC-17 when it submitted the film, which includes footage of personal information about each individual on the ratings board.
Q8. Yet another director to receive three NC-17 ratings, two of his Spanish films star Antonio Banderas and the third stars a hot crossdressing Gael Garcia Bernal. (They pertain to, respectively, a bullfighter, an escaped mental patient who kidnaps a porn star, and catholic school.) Name the director, bonus points for each of the three films.
Q9. This film, whose girl-on-girl anal sex scene was blurred past the point of recognition in order to produce an R-rated cut, lost a significant part of its strong anti-drug message when it was censored. Extra point for the director.
Q10. This Bernardo Bertolucci film, whose X rating was retroactively replaced with an NC-17, centers around an explicit affair between an older American man and a young French woman. Name the film and the actor, whose most memorable line in the film is "Get the butter."

Unusual Sex Practices or Normal Sex Practices with Unusual Names
SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Q1. This practice refers to arousal from being in public places. Its opposite would be fear of public places, often misconceived as fear of open spaces.
Q2. This act involves self-induced strangling during sexual activity. Unfortunately, 250- 1,000 men die each year from practicing this act. There aren't any statistics on women dying from it, so they either do it better or do it less.
Q3. This act has two different names, both of which refer to sex between a human and an animal. An examples might include the Greek god Zeus' amorous exploits. One point each for the two names of this act.
Q4. This is the sexological word for dirty talk. Directly translated it means "feces speak."
Q5. This is a wall or box that has an opening only large enough for the insertion of a penis, which allows both partners to protect their anonymity. Humans are not the only animal to use this apparatus of sorts: the female threadworm pokes her vagina through the skin of her host vegetable when she is ready for sex. The males crawl around the surface until they find one of these female occupied gaps.
Q6. Also known as autonepiophilia, this practice refers to arousal from playing the role of a baby. It can involve sexual or non-sexual situations, including diaper play, storytime, or nursing. People are able, for a time, to have burdensome adult responsibilities taken away, and thus find it possible to "let go" emotionally and/or sexually in ways that would not be permitted the adult.
Q7. BDSM is a compound fraction. That means that BD, DS, and SM all stand for something. Name all six.
Q8. This term refers to people who become sexually aroused by fear provoking stimuli. Not to be confused with Sadism, Masochism, or the combination thereof, this is also referred to as terror play.
Q9. This male genital piercing was once found in ancient Southeast Asia, chiefly among the Dayaks. It is a bar or rod that pierces through the glans horizontally and is said to give more of a feeling of firmness to the glans penis during penetration
Q10. This aristocratic Austrian novelist, who lived from 1836 to 1905, wrote sexual tales of men being dominated, humiliated, and disciplined by beautiful women. His most notorious novel was Venus in Furs.
