I was so excited to write about this week's topic!!
As a woman who understands my place in society and the challenges it imposes on me, I have always tried to consume content produced, created, directed and written by women or that addresses topics that involve women in a non-stereotypical way. Especially because the view that the rest of the world has of my country is a union of sexist and xenophobic concepts that label Brazilian women in a pejorative way.
That said, let's get to the starting point of the conversation, my inspirations!
In politics in my country there are two women that I have always admired, Dilma, our first female president and who even suffered a coup d'état. Dilma is a woman who was tortured during periods of military dictatorship in my country, and who for me has always been an example of strength and resilience. The second is Érika Hilton, the first trans woman to occupy a seat in the São Paulo City Council, currently doing an impeccable job as a Federal Deputy. Women who defied and continue to defy imposed absurdities.
In music, I have a very special affection for Madonna and Cher because of the way they have always positioned themselves in the media, dealing with female sexuality in times where it was a greater taboo than it is today.
I have a fondness for the whole idea that SG represents, I have some friends who I admire so much, but all the girls who day after day create incredible content and welcome each other in the beautiful way they are, deserve admiration and inspire me a lot!
And last but not least, my mother, the woman who taught me that you don't need anything or anyone other than yourself, to overcome all the challenges that life can impose on you, you just have to want it!
I don't want to seem egocentric, but I am very inspired by my life story and I am even more inspired by having lived and known the cruel side of many people and still being a kind, respectful and extremely resilient woman.
Writing this blog made me happy, thank you SG.
Kisses!
Anita.
