Did you ever get that feeling, listening to a song, that this is what you should have been listening to as a teenager?
My cousins were off into hip hop and bad R&B.
My dad was going through his black panther on the outside hippie on the inside thing. War, Funkadelic, Dylan, a little Van Morrison.
My mom was all about the jazz and the only out I could think of was... easy listening.
Also known as "soft rock".
Oh how I was a wayward child!
I didn't get off into anything remotely good til I was 15 and I found a Smashing Pumpkins album on the ground on my way home from school.
It was like somebody let the holy fucking grail fall out of their bookbag and into my lap.
I was saved!
But, I digress.
I don't exactly know what my point was but I just thought it was a nice moment.
Ya know that whole stream of conscience thing.
