Hey guys! It’s with extreme happiness that I come here to say I became now a taekwondo RED BELT!
Now I’ve achieved a status of 2nd GUB. The red belt and black tip belt represents the SUN - which also means fire, danger, that we have to be alert.
It’s the final step before graduation, it’s the end of a great road. Also almost the beginning of a totally different life.
I was talking to a friend of mine, he was from the Brazilian national team back when I started taekwondo, I’ve always admired that boy and now he was the chosen master from Brazil to receive the scholarship to study in South Korea with the greatest masters of taekwondo in the WORLD, he is such an incredible inspo! We said we’d throw a PARTY when I get my black belt because he saw me starting on TKD, giving up on TKD and also, he was always motivating me to get back, and now, he is doing the same for me start competing at POOMSAE category!
Poomsae is a sequence of moves, attacking, blocking, very similar to the KATA in karate. It requires extreme discipline, strength, flexibility and balance to execute perfectly. Probably in the next yr u guys are going to see me competing in this category!!
Guys, seriously.. the sad 19yo me, who left taekwondo with her heartbroken, who spent almost 10 years missing this sport so deeply, would be SO PROUD to see, that she did it! Even though she thought she couldn’t, that she’d never be allowed to pursue her dream, she went up for herself and made it real.
Now, I’ll be training as harder than I can, to make me and my masters proud.
1 more colored belt to go! LETS GET THAT BLACK ONE GUYSSSSS!!!!
