My housemates are assholes...
It's official.
Last night, after months of arguments and me being as polite as humanly possible I came to the conclusion that my housemates really are assholes. I was supposed to be up at five-thirty this morning, and I was, but that didn't stop them making shit loads of noise in the room above me despite me saying I was going to go and try to get some sleep at eleven thirty last night.
Now, I know what you're thinking...
'But they might not have realised they were keeping you awake...' No they probably wouldn't had we not been having this argument for the last nine months, each time me saying I can hear them talking and banging around up there.
'But you didn't ask them to be quiet did you?' No this is true, but given they know when I say I am up early I mean EARLY they should know that I would really appreciate them keeping the noise down. Would just be nice if they would choose to be quiet for my benefit when they know this rather have me going 'I am going to bed, so BE quiet' every single time.
'But they're probably busy and want to enjoy their chance to hang out and stay up late and be loud etc.' None of them have jobs, and now none of them have classes either. I don't see why they couldn't do what they were doing last night at three thirty in the afternoon when everyone is already up rather than three thirty in the morning when they know I am trying to sleep.
What gets me more is that every time I have this out with them I hear them laughing away when I have gone or talking about it and it feels like I am seen as being the asshole. Yeah I know they're students and they want to enjoy that time while they can, but it's two nights a week that I have to be in bed that early, and it's always those two nights they want to stay up rather than the ones where I could be awake till five am no problem.
What gets me as well is they keep saying 'Well what nights do you have to be in bed early?' or 'Well couldn't you tell us in advance?' What do you need?! I have been working exactly the same shifts for the last two years, and do you really need for days notice so you can plan moving to another fucking room?!
So yea, assholes, the lot of them. I will be SO fucking glad when I don't live here anymore, when they have fucked the hell off and I can finally get a decent nights sleep!
I need coffee. Is that wise?
