The Activities Blog
I bought myself an old xbox this week. Not a 360, the original black brick, only I got one of the semi-translucent green ones, which was nice. The main reason I mention this is I bought a bunch of old games and I have had more fun on that thing in the last three days then I had since I first bought my 360, which seems a bit poo. I don't know why but the games just seem more fun than the current crop. Maybe these companies are getting too obsessed with looks and specs that they forgot why we play games in the first place.
Finally got back on the bike today. I didn't do any long distances, Just a couple of short ones, but I really enjoyed it. I dont know what it is but cycling gives me a sense of freedom I just don't get from walking and I have really missed that. I am thinking of packing a lunch one day this week and going for a nice leisurely ride along the Mersey as they have a path that runs for a good few miles along its banks. If nothing else it is helping me get my fitness back, which has gone out the window the last year or so.
On a sad final note. One of my mates is a bloody idiot. She got a cat today, and within half an hour she had lost it. Its not even that young, 18 months, so fairly easy to spot. I mean, its not like it can hide behind the fridge or anything. What makes me so angry about this is that she went outside and left the door open within half an hour of the cat getting to her house and it vanished. Surely common sense would tell you that the cat will not know this is home yet, that locking it in a room while you go outside might be an idea, and that it might be wise to make sure the cat doesn't follow you when you go out, just to make sure. She was so clueless that she didn't even realise it had gone until she was back in the house. I have tried to be reassuring and supportive as she is having a really rough time lately. In fact this was going to be a really good thing for her as she has been dead lonely. Instead though I just wanna scream at her for being such an idiot. I don't care when people fuck their own lives up by being an idiot, I can even muster sympathy. When they fuck up someone else's life or put an animal at risk it makes me furious though. Its just so fucking irresponsible!
