OMG, I've just been offered my own monthly column!! In Sawubona - the official in-flight magazine of South African Airways (SAA). I will be taking over 2 full pages entitled JOBURG diary. My Capetonian counterpart (CAPE TOWN diary) is the awesome Hilary Prendini-Toffoli, who is renowned for her delightful insight into all layers of society, especially the maverick. For those of you that loved Style magazine as much as I did (RIP, my beauty ), you will no doubt recall Toffoli's colourful column with fond memories; she now has a similar one in Noseweek magazine, aptly entitled Bites & Pieces.
Sawubona is a complimentary magazine catering to over 7 million SAA passengers each year. It boasts a print run of 99,000 copies a month & is carried on all flights, both domestic & international, aiming to provide readers with a lively editorial mix of travel, culture & lifestyle.
The cover of the current (April) issue. Sawubona is an Nguni word meaning 'greetings'.
