Last night after work I spent 2-&-a-half hours at the rented home of my new business partners (in Parkhurst) chatting with one of the current major shareholders, Shane, more in-depth about our strategy for the launch, plus ongoing management of, the new model agency. The more I think about it, the more excited I am becoming. I just have SUCH a good gut feeling about this whole thing
Now that I know Shane & Paul live together - & from what I can gather also share a bedroom - I am 99% convinced that they are not only business partners, but romantic ones as well. I had my vague suspicions when I first met them a month ago (Paul is a screaming queen; Shane, however, comes across as very hetero, & that's perhaps where that 1% of doubt still lingers...) Not that I have a problem with it at all - it's just that I find it rather ironic that my two major dealings with the local fashion industry thus far have both involved gay couples (one female, the other male).
Anyway, we still need to iron out all the details of the budget, which I've said I will go back & work on with them sometime this weekend. I've also asked if Lee can come along, as I want him to meet "the boys" & vice-versa. Shane seemed to be totally cool with this idea, even though I know we'll be discussing some top-secret industry changes in the pipeline that he has already alluded to. We (Lee & I) will both, no doubt, have to sign a confidentiality agreement, which is perfectly understandable, especially in such a cutthroat market place.
When I got home just after 8pm (two KFC Zingers with cheese, plus two cans of Tab in hand - being the unashamedly undomesticated goddess than I am ), our architect, Marc, was there, dropping off some copies of the final, council-approved plans for our new house. But although it's now "all systems go", heaven only knows when our damn builder will actually be able to start. He seems to be tied up with a million other projects at the moment. And because of MAJOR supply & demand problems in our local construction industry, it's not like we can just pick up the phone & rope in another builder. Oh, well, I guess we'll just have to be mighty patient & wait & see
After watching "Final24", a History Channel documentary we had taped on the final hours in the life of Sid Vicious way back in 1979, we went to bed with a rather unpleasant, lingering smell of poison emanating from our en-suite bathroom. The bee people had been round earlier in the day to exterminate the hive of honey bees who had craftily set up camp beneath the seat of our corner bath; their only point of entry / exit a discreet external airbrick a full storey above ground. Judging by the lack of creepy, buzzy vibrations when we now put our ears to the tub, it seems "the killers" did a good job of eradicating the wee blighters. For a whopping R1,300 I should bloody well expect so!! (Don't worry, we are going to claim it all back from the Body Coprorate )
Well, my amigos, I guess it's that time of day again - when I gotta be loving & leaving ya. Don't worry, though - you know you'll be seeing me back here soon!

is your house being built from the ground up. our house was and we took pictures of every stage. from when is was a dirt lot with tumbleweeds, to the foundation being poured, house being framed etc. i think in years to come those pictures will be fun to look at.
