Had a very cool time in "Durbs by the sea" 
After a successful presentation to the local advertising industry on Friday morning (where I also bumped into several old colleagues of mine from about 5 years ago), my mom & I went on a whirlwind shopping spree (La Lucia Mall & Musgrave Centre), followed by more of the same on Saturday (Hillcrest Heritage Market). I bought myself a luxurious grey jersey top with purple rose detail, plus 3 x first editions of Patricia Cornwell's amazing Kay Scarpetta novels.
I was rather disappointed by the size & choice of stock at The Space on Florida Road (no Miss Moneypenny
), & was devastated to see that the DDE (Durban Designers' Emporium) had closed down. (Maybe they've just relocated, but I'm not sure to where??) Was very pleased, however, to see that the Colonial Trading Company is busy re-opening on Clarence Road. I just LOVE their selection of (mainly) imported colonial style furniture, plus quirky bric a brac
On Saturday night my dad took us out for dinner to a lovely French restaurant in Westville, called Le Trouquet, where I had the most amazing 3-course meal. It's VERY rare that I can manage 3 courses (usually I just have two starters, or one main), but the food was sooo good I simply couldn't resist
Yesterday we went golf shoe shopping for my dad, & I tried to fix a couple of things on their home PC. I don't know 'bout you lot, but it seems that every time I / we go down to visit our parents, we somehow get roped in to patch up irritating little problems on their computers 
This time, however, I decided to tell my mom - in no uncertain terms - that she really needs to find herself a schoolboy in the area who can come in on a PAID ad hoc basis to help her out, instead of relying on us all the time. After all, who the hell wants to spend their hard-earned holiday fixing PCs?!?! I / we sure as hell don't 
Anyway, I hope she got the message 
We're in for another busy week / weekend. Tomorrow night we're going round to Richard's place for a braai (BBQ), with Marc (our architect) & Jolene. On Saturday we want to swing by Lara & Mervin's place to visit baby Kalay, followed by dinner with Tarryn, & maybe a stint at Red Room afterwards. It is also the final / deciding F1 Grand Prix of the season - in Brazil - where we are PRAYING for Alonso to whip Michael's skanky cheating ass
And I should also, hopefully, be having a 2nd face-to-face meeting with one or both of the guys from Cape Town re: finalising plans for the Jo'burg launch of the "new & improved" model agency. Watch this space...
