Once again I find myself feeling pretty jaded. I think I need another holiday
My boss has asked me to fly down to Durban (the city where I was born & raised) this Thursday afternoon to help out with a magazine presentation to the local ad industry on Friday morning. I'll be spending Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights at my folks' place in Westville, then flying back up to Johannesburg on Sunday evening.
The company is lucky enough not to have to fork out for accomodation & car hire! (I'll borrow my mom's VW). Apart from a much-needed change of scenery, what I am REALLY looking forward to is my mom's yummy home cooking, having her & my dad all to myself, & being spoilt rotten Durban is home to some of our country's hottest fashion designers, & I definitely plan to squeeze in a spot of retail therapy, too...
The following weekend, when I'm back in Jozi, Lee & I want to go & visit our mates, Lara & Mervin, who recently had a baby girl, named Kalay Morgan. Am DYING to meet her!!
Thereafter it's our annual advertising / media industry charity bash (this year it's being held at Taboo nightclub in Sandton, which is apparently a really cool venue & is therefore hopefully going to be a lot of fun), closely followed by Halloween (my FAVOURITE of favourite celebrations!), & then the last few manic weeks of 2006 before we all wind down to a well-deserved Xmas / New Year's break.
It really never ceases to amaze me how ridiculously fast time seems to fly by...
Look after yourselves
