Wow, our 1000th SG!!!!!
Dunno 'bout you lot, but I reckon she's just raised the bar by quite a few notches
Anyway, today was a public holiday in South Africa (Human Rights Day), & what better way to celebrate than with some good food & fine company?! Last night Lee & I took ourselves off to Manhattan Grille in Cresta for steak (I was seriously craving red meat), & today we joined Chris & Tarryn for a lovely laidback seafood lunch @ the most peculiarly named "Cape Town Fish Market" in the heart of Northern Johannesburg
Followed by a wee DVD session at home. I was in the mood for some silly humour, so we hired a local comedy entitled "Straight Outta Benoni", which thankfully turned out to be quite a hoot. [For those of you who don't know, Benoni is the rather unremarkable middle-class suburb (an old mining town) on the eastern outskirts of Jo'burg - near our international airport, where Charlize Theron grew up]. The two main actors are a duo who call themselves "Crazy Monkey". You would probably recognise them from their deliberately lame Jackass spoofs between music videos on MTV. We also recognised most of the other actors as some of the real-life stand-up comedians we've seen at "Comedy Underground", which is held in the basement of Cool Runnings in Melville every Sunday night.
Tomorrow it's back to the grindstone
I've really gotta get my own business off the ground. Which reminds me - I must get hold of Sean Coetzer tomorrow...
Enjoy the rest of your week!!
