We had quite a busy weekend. On Saturday I spent 6 hours revising & re-revising & then RE-re-revising our house plans to fit more realistically in line with our budget! Then yesterday we had a 2-hour meeting with our architect, Marc, at his & his girlfriend, Jolene's, place, followed by lunch with Chris & Tarryn at a small Italian restaurant in Sandton. (The boys call it "Giovani's" because the owner / chef's name is Giovani - & to be honest, I can't even recall the real name right now...but I'm glad to say that the food & company were both FANTASTIC!). After that, Lee, Ronwen & I went round to Richard's house. While the boys did some gardening & drank beer, Ro & I spent 5 full hours going through Angie's stuff & chosing what we'd like to keep & what we thought should be donated to charity. (Her mom & sister had already picked out what they wanted in December). Ange is the only other woman I know (apart from my best mate, Lindy, in the UK) who wore a (UK) size 8 shoe, so I scored BIG time! It was kinda surreal going through all Ange's personal belongings, but at the same time, I also felt really close to her.
Lindy's mom, Anne, committed suicide when we were in Std 7, age 14. I remember when Lin gave me a whole bunch of her mom's makeup because she knew that is what Anne would've wanted. (She was actually the one who initially taught me how to do my own face). If I close my eyes now I can still vividly recall the creamy textures & the rich smell of all that 80s makeup. Some of you can probably remember - it was a LOT more heavily scented than most brands on the market today...probably to balance out that big Dallas hair & those huge Dynasty shoulder pads
Oh, & I got a quote from Mr Lucky to do my Hello Kitty tattoo: 200 ZAR (approx. 33 USD, 19 GBP or 28 EURO), which I think is very reasonable. I'm going to make a booking later this week, once I've tidied my diary...
