A concept lives in the mind. One thing that people seem to forget is that, no matter how much it dominates our language, the way we look at our world and American culture at large, possession and ownership are merely concepts. They have nothing to do with what is real. If there were some super-sweet radiation wave from space or explosion of liberating concept-culture that infected all of us and removed the concept of owning things from our minds, it wouldn't affect anything in the concrete. You are where you are, the knife is in the drawer, the car is parked on the street, the house is built on a hill. . . . .who these things are regularly used by is a function of human behavior which is governed by an abstract concept. All these things exist separate from the concept of possession.
