I get mail from people; mail that was forwarded to people from people I do not know. You should know my politics are what many might consider extreme. I'm not unpatriotic. I love the concept of the United States of America. I truly do. Like so many things which play out well "on paper" the reality of our world is that "power corrupts". I don't understand why the mesages were sent to me.I would hope that the person who sent it to me knows how it may incite me to madness after reading it.
It's a fictitious letter to the American people in this case about troop withdrawl from Iraq. Blah Blah Blah. I'm not going to comment.
i know the person who forwarded me this message didn't mean to piss me off. I'm not angry about it. But I think most Americans have an over simplified view of world events and international social policy.

Idealism is beautiful because it affords simplicity and absoloutism. Reality is mired by consequence. I know a lot of people want Iraq to be over. But i also know that that region will self destruct if left alone.
After years of bloody civil war it would find a new dictator to fill the power vaccuum and I believe Iraq would become a breeding ground for terrorism.

our system is in practice as flawed as any other contrived by the minds of men. Sorry to say that's the fact.

I know you can say the same of Communism. Again I place the blame on human fault. The ideal sounds really good. But its the practical application of any social policy that goes awry.
