This weekend was the Colorado Dark Arts Festival and DanielK had his first showing of photography. I must say it went extremely well. He exhibited a series of shots he took of girly, 3 of which you can see in her pics folder. For those of you not in Colorado, the Dark Arts Festival is a festival for those in the goth community. The shots he exhibited were fine art nudes and were the talk of the night. I am so, so, so proud of him, I can't even begin to describe it. I felt so lucky to be able to talk to people about him and his work and to hear how much they were impressed by it. One person, a photographer, even said it was the best black and white work he had seen in 10 years. I had people who worked at the bar tell me when I went to get drinks how much they liked his work. One of the other exhibitors even commented on how they were so impressed by his work that she said he should bring his work down to one of the local, big, galleries (Camera Obscura) and that he would have a show in a second. That he is completely ready for that. There were actually a couple of other comments to that same affect. I know I'm bragging, but dammit I'm so proud of him I'm busting at the seams.
