Me and Shepard
By: DanielK
So a TON has been happening lately which would explain my lack of updates.
First and foremost, DanielK will be having select fetish works shown this Friday, June 1 at the Labyrinth Gallery at 860 W. 8th St in the Santa Fe Arts District here in Denver. Anyone in Denver should definitely come check it out. We'll be there from 7pm on. The gallery is also open every Friday from 5pm-10pm so if you can't make it out this Friday, you can still come see his work.
Secondly, we have moved. I now have a less than 5 minute commute to work and it is saving a TON in gas money. Smart move for us since gas is stupidly high these days.
I also had decided to go the route of burlesque. I was taking classes this month and had my graduation performance yesterday (Sunday). Pictures will come soon. It went REALLY well and I can't wait to do it again. I've got 4 more ideas for routines and have maybe half of two costumes gathered together that I could work on. Now I just need to find a venue to perform in. That shouldn't be a problem as I'm friends with two busy burlesque/circus people but you never know. I can't really join one of the troupes even if they asked me and another one is full so I'll be flying solo. I'm really excited though. I just wish I had more time that I could really devote to it. But I won't really be able to focus on burlesque until August unless something magical happens and I'm offered some spots in the meantime.
I was SO nervous! To the point that I didn't really tell many people about it because I was so scared I would screw up. I should have invited everyone though as it went so well. Hopefully there will be more performances in the future and then I can be confident enough to invite everyone I know!
Sorry, about that. Can you tell I'm excited?
Let's see. Thunder is quickly approaching and there is just a ton of stuff to do for that even though it is just under 2 months away.
We are going to start the first shoot for the 2008 Denver Roller Dolls Calendar tomorrow. There are going to be some tough shoots but it should turn out looking awesome. I'm so proud of DanielK for everything he is doing these days. It certainly keeps me busy. And I have to say that with this and the burlesque, I'm not really missing modeling. I am missing traveling, but hopefully we'll be able to get out of town for Labor Day.
Oh! I was also an extra again in the movie that I helped out with last October. They are still filming and I was told they have a part for me that they want me to play (besides just being an extra). This time I wasn't a furry though. I was someone who had contracted this illness/addiction. Lots of makeup. Lots of fake blood. Much sticking to the floor to the point that I literally fell over without my feet moving an inch. But TONS of fun. I really like the people who are making this. They like to have fun and really do appreciate the work that EVERYONE puts in. Not to mention they have some seriously cool places that they told us we could use for photoshoots. I can't wait.
I guess that's about it. The dog is well. My job is insanely busy too. My Mom and siblings are coming in town this Saturday (keep your fingers crossed that I keep my sanity even if they are only going to be in town for one night).
Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend!
