So yes, that is one picture from my set that was rejected. I have 14 more pictures in my "Rejected Set" photo album under "Pics". I wasn't given much reason as to why it was rejected and when I emailed for more details, I haven't heard back. Keep in mind, these are only 15 of 62 pictures. We submitted 9 to get "pre-approval" but that wasn't approved. I have some posted in the SGHopefuls group so I would LOVE some feedback on it!
I must admit that I was disappointed as I thought it was a great set. However, upon further reflection, I think it was for the best. I have decided not to submit any further sets (and no, not because this one was rejected-though it did make me think harder about a lot of things). I will just say that they are for "personal" reasons. I do have some great ideas for sets and will hopefully see the ideas implemented with other girls, but this pale horse will no longer ride the SG Hopeful trail. I do definitely want to still work with SGs and SG Photographers but will just not be submitting anything to the site.
Please go give DanielK mad props for the work he did with me on this set. It was a lot of fun to do and, if nothing else, we both have FABULOUS pictures we can use for our portfolios. Also, thanks to BasuraBlanca and MadScience_7 for their assistence on the shoot. They were great to work with and have there.
I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted.
We are moving! Still in Denver but MUCH MUCH MUCH closer to my new job. Which means we are going to be closer to our studio and to our friends and to the events we go and shoot. I cannot even imagine how much money we are going to save in gas.
The new job is going well. I'm home sick today. There has been something that has been going around. I'm not nearly as bad off as Daniel or some of our friends but I didn't want to pass anything around and then struggle to make it home after work. So, I felt it was in my best interest to stay here. Plus it allows me to catch up on some SG time. Well, and pack. Packing is much more important at this point.
We have just been tremendously busy. At least 4 or 5 shoots a week for the past few weeks. I got to model yesterday for some promo shots we are doing for a club. I had a wedding dress so I got to be in a lot of pictures. They turned out really nice. It was hectic and stressful, but fun too! Here's a shot from that

So, I am thinking about doing a couple of things. I'm just not sure which will be first, if I will do either or both, or what. I am thinking about joining the Denver Roller Dolls roller derby team (they are holding open tryouts through March and April for anyone who might be interested) and I am thinking about getting into burlesque. This absolutely wonderful burlesque dancer is putting on a month long course on burlesque and I am seriously considering attending and possibly joining their troupe.
What it boils down to is that Daniel and I are really active with both things. I am on the PR committee for the DRD and it seems I would have more say and be just as active if I were skating. However, I'm just not sure at this point if I can commit the amount of time necessary to practices. With the burlesque, we are always going to the shows and I am such an exhibitionist that I just envy the girls that are up there. It calls to both my exhibitionist side as well as to my creative side. I guess I look at it as "active modeling"
So what do you guys think? Let's say money isn't an issue (even though it is and will definitely play a big part in my decision once I have all the information). Should I choose between the two activities, or should I do both? I'm just looking for some food for thought and to see the pros and cons to both that I might not have thought of.
Enough of an update for now. I'll try to update more regularly so that I don't have these novels.
