Go give love to BasuraBlanca for the great job he did with this!
Ok, so this last blizzard we had is the first time I've ever experienced that much snow in my life. In the midwest we just get a bunch of ice, some snow, and then some more ice and it all hangs around for weeks. I've never had to deal with 2 feet of snow at once. Thank the gods for 4-wheel drive or I would have been totally screwed.
My job is going well. Considering I started on a Monday, then that Wednesday they let us all go around 11:30am because of the snow, then we got Thursday off and Friday and Monday we had off already for Christmas. I took Tuesday off for Christmas (after starting I found out that we got a personal day that I had to use by the end of the year). Worked Wednesday and then was told I could leave on Thursday at about 2 because of the snow again. We already had today and Monday off for New Year's. So, I worked 2.5 days, had time off, worked 1.5 days, had time off and then will work 4 days. A pretty good way to start a new job, if I do say so myself. They are starting me slow on getting into a bunch of work and that is going well. I'm excited so far for the things I will be doing. I feel like I'll be getting the hang of things pretty quickly.
Things have slowed down, but only because of the snow. We have a New Year's Eve party we are photographing and a bunch of shoots that are waiting to be scheduled, but nothing solidified just yet. My set is 'shopped for the most part. Just got to put logos on and get it sent in. I'm very excited.
The holidays were pretty good. Spent them on the Western Slope and relaxed for the most part. Except sleeping in a strange bed just did not allow for very recooperative sleep. Well, that and me getting completely shit faced Christmas night. I did not have a good night that night. So when we got home Tuesday night, I slept like the dead. There is nothing better than getting to sleep in your own bed after being away for a few days.
The best part of Christmas was watching Sierra (our dog) open presents. Last year at Christmas, my mom had sent her some wrapped presents and we taught her how to open them. She is very delicate about gently ripping off little pieces of the wrapping paper until she gets into the actual gift. So when I got a present on my birthday, she sat herself right in front of me like it was for her and wouldn't leave me alone until I let her open it for me. So, of course this Christmas we wrapped a bunch of small presents for her just so she could open them. It was great! I wish I had a video or something to post here.
That's about all that's going on here. I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Year's! See you all in 2007!

Ooo roller derby sounds like so much fun. I want to give it a try but I need to get in much better shape first. If you make it you'll have to let me know, maybe I'll use it as an excuse to come visit.
