By DanielK (give a shout out to his workHere)
This is from a photoshoot we had with After_Thought last weekend. The shoot went very well. It was a practice shoot for her and I jumped in and got in on the fun
We shot with her again this weekend. She is a great model, easy to work with, and just a fun, nice person overall. Go tell her how hot she is!
Ok, an update from what I wrote in the last journal:
We both have new glasses now and they rock! One of these days I'll get a good picture in them and post them. And maybe convince DanielK to get a picture in his
He looks so good!
Paintball was a phenomenal time. If you have never went and done this, you definitely should. It is a great work out and a ton of fun. I only got hit on the gun (though I did get a scratch on my finger from one of the paintballs) so no cool welts. Though, everyone who did get hit DID get some pretty good welts. I didn't know what they would look like. They end up being about the size of a half-dollar and really dark red. Which, would be cool in photographs. I just don't see any paintball course letting me run around naked so I can get hit with them though.
The websites for work are coming along splendidly. Though, I was home sick for 2 days this past week so I'm a little behind on getting everything the way I would like it. I am so happy that tomorrow is Memorial Day. I need a break from work. I am getting really burned out on all the crap going on there. We had yet another person leave (of her own will-she got a much better job) which means more workload for little old me once we can actually buy properties. Which is a whole other story in and of itself. Truly boring so I won't go on much about it.
News for us is that both DanielK and I have new cell phones. My phone number will remain the same (and should be working by tomorrow). This is exciting for me because my old cell phone came out before the introduction of camera phones, phones with downloadable ringtones, text messaging, and all of those other cool features which are now pretty standard. My ringtone? The Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Daniel has AC/DC as his. I'm really happy that they had Time Warp. I didn't think they would. It was going to be that or Meat Loaf. But, alas, no Meat Loaf.
We also went to the first league bout of the Denver Rollerdolls. I was surprised. I thought it was going to be like "Rollergirls" on A&E. But it was not. The league here actually skates on a flat ring and spectators are able to sit about 5 feet from the skaters. Interesting to say the least. And a little unnerving when you have a bunch of camera equipment around that could be stolen. So my job was acting as equipment guard. It was still pretty fun though.
In other news, if anyone is in the market for a size 5.5 engagement ring, let me know. I have my old set up on ebay right now: Ebay Auction.
Last night was LilAmySunshine's dance recital. She did a wonderful job. It was a really interesting show with dance, poetry, gymnastic acts, as well as a couple of people hanging from the ceiling doing dance/acrobatic moves while suspended. It looked like a lot of fun. And you can learn how to do it too! Unfortunately, an hour drive to learn how to do that is just not appealing to me at the moment. It's bad enough that it takes me that long to get home from work. One day maybe.
So, as you can see from DanielK's journal, I am starting to do yoga. Unfortunately, being sick this past week has kind of put my working out on hold a bit. I'm still not fully recovered and it's tiring just making dinner and taking the dog out and going to work. But, I will be getting back to it, and I'm sure more naked yoga pics will soon follow. It is both a good exercise for me (both physically in the fact that I'm literally exercising as well as mentally as I see what age is doing to my ass) and Daniel. The more practice you get in front of and behind the camera, the better you get.
I am currently on the search for quick, healthy, inexpensive meals (well recipes). I am trying to get us both healthier and I am a complete idiot when it comes to healthy eating. My standard meals tend to be very high carb (I'm Italian and a bit Irish, it's in the blood-I can't help it) so I'm looking for ways to cut down on that as well as stearing away from fast food. So, the quicker the better. If anyone can offer some good recipes, I'd love to hear them.
Wow, I keep looking back at my previous journal entry and just realized it has been almost a month since I've updated. Bad Angeluca! Bad! I really was trying to be better about it
I guess that's about all that's going on right now. I'm off to find a decent pork chop recipe. Have a great end to your Memorial Day weekend everyone (well, everyone in the States that is) and I hope everyone's weekend was great!

I got the rollerdolls schedule and the next one (july 14) is the one we are planning on going to...so we'll see you there! We are definately excited to start haning out in Denver no more Boulder...although i will still come to Boulder every day for work....
Have a great weekend!
Today's project was finding a decent, basic chocolate cake recipe, though. And while I did eventually manage that, along the way I was exposed to the horrific creations of people who devoted their entire lives to replicating Dr. Frankenstein's labs in seemingly normal home kitchens. The stuff that people will throw into the oven and call "cake"...
On the vegetable-friendly recipe front, here's a basic fried rice:
1 cup frozen green peas
2 stalks celery, diced
2 large carrots, diced
1 medium onion
2-3 stalks green onions (optional)
1 scrambled egg, diced (optional; season with salt and pepper if using)
1 grilled chicken breast, diced (optional; may want to season lightly with soy sauce if using)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Saute vegetables with oil in a wok over medium heat until mostly cooked (more lightly cooked = more nutrients preserved, but you don't want them to be totally raw, so cook to taste). Season a little more heavily than you would if you were eating the vegetables plain.
Then add:
2 cups cooked long-grain rice (white or brown)
~2 teaspoons light soy sauce, or to taste
~1 teaspoon sesame oil
...and cook another 5 minutes or so.
Total cooking time, not counting whatever time it took to cook the rice separately, is about 20 minutes.
