Hello everyone!
so, in the midst of the 2nd worse flood in the history of new england right now since my college cancelled all classes and i cancelled my doctor's appointment, i figured i'd do alittle update and include pics of what the flooding in lowell has looked like over the past few days..
edit: the full view of the pics are in my folders
Sunday May 14th:
this is from the bridge on campus.. normally u can see the bottom of those trees..
this is at uml south campus next to the river. the river got so high it went over the rock wall and up onto the grass..
another view at south next to the river..
this is normally a pretty big waterfall! you can see the top of some trees near the right of pic..
Monday May 15th:
same place on south the next day.. now the water is almost in the street!
another pic near the river on south..
i know it's called the river walk, but i don't think that's what ppl had in mind the water is almost touching the bottom of the bridge!
another river walk pic, near the mills..
this is in Rochester,NH from sunday!
the majority of the roads and streets in lowell are closed or detoured. I tried driving to Salem,NH on sunday to see my mom for mother's day, but couldn't because all the roads leading to her house are closed or washed out! there were cars being swept away and floating down streets there as early as sunday!
i'm supposed to go to work tonight, but i don't know if i'll be able to make it. for those who don't know, i drive a honda del sol, a TINY fucking car, and i hydro plane really easy.. so with the weather and so many washed out roads, i don't even want to attempt it! oh well, hopefully i can just stay put..
so my final isn't due until monday next week, so i'll update sometime after i can stop worrying about my classes..
stay dry everyone!
