Today I'm sitting five kids, which is a piece of cake. They pretty much take care of themselves unless there is some dispute over toys or something like that. The parents drop off snacks and a check then pick up their kids later. I brought a couple of movies since it's raining and the mom and dad of the house I'm at didn't leave me the minivan.
I've been working on some amazing art, although it's so time-consuming and out of four pictures I've managed to only finish one. Each one is a learning experience of sorts. The techique, the supplies, the time, the weather, my health have all been factors in the success of my recent works, and since they're not finished I have my health to blame. I want to see my works sold. This is my main force- so I'm creating art that appeals to people who would spend the money on art. The main ingredient is glitter. All shapes and sizes, and colors.
Yesterday I hung out with my friend Penny. I've employed her to make a dress for me from an old vintage one that fits me like a glove. She took measurements of me to make a moulage which is basically a mock-up on my upper body exactly. She's shortening a pair of PJ pants for me, making a pair of capri PJ pants out of this fun Tiki flannel, and a skirt with black and white skull print fabric. It'll be rockin' when it's done! She inspires me a lot, and we have a ton of cool ideas together.
Jerme and I are doing well. He's sick this week, as I was last week. This flu is hard to shake. It makes you cough a lot each night unless you take nyquil or some other drug to force sleep.
I just am giving myself until May to come up with $2500 and pay off my ongoing debt. I can do it- and in addition make more cash babysitting.
I'm thinking about attending a couple of shows, one is at the Pound in SF, Fang- it could give me a chance to possibly hang out with friends, but still haven't found it on THE LIST (linked below). I also want to check out The Vice at the Stork Club in Oakland on the 22nd. I need to get more involved with some of the Galleries here too- I need my name out and locals got an IN anywhere? My landlord's husband wants to buy one of my paintings, but I don't think she'd approve of the price $1500. That's two month's rent almost.
I also posted a small monster set on PSW. Enjoy- I'm planning on doing another next week but sharing MORE of my collection and maybe self......mmmmm?
