Fucking Thanksgiving weekend was kinda lame. I usually have a great gig house sitting in Rockridge (very yuppie 'hood in Oakland) but it came with a very annoying price- a four month old Rodesian Ridgeback puppy. I am NOT a dog person. This dog was so needy, it wouldn't even let you sit and read a fucking book- often it would stand in front of me barking.
I really like Cats!
But ended up watching 28Days later, Spirited Away, Anger Management, The Italian Job, and Old School. Those were all noteworthy, the others I didn't bnother watching- AND I didn't make my goal of seven movies in four days.
Jerme took me to the gym and coached me on doing squats. MUTHERFUCKING HELL! They make you so sore! But I'm not a whimp and can take the pain. No wonder my man is in such a mood after squatting 300 lbs, I thought 95lbs was a lot! It just makes me want to go kick somebody's ass! Oh well. I read Lullaby by Chuck Pahliniuk, The Miserable Mill by Limony Snicket and am starting Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite. A lot of the books I read I buy at a thrift store in Rockridge called Alta Bates Showcase. They get donations from the local yuppies and get really new books -trade paperbacks for $2, and big hardcovers for $3. That's not bad! I bought The Album Cover Art of Punk there and a couple of Jim Thompsom books.
Today will be spent tidying the house, watching tv, and enjoying relaxation without a dog!
