I spent $99 on my parakeet today. They wanted to keep him overnight and give him oxygen and tube feeding, but I let them tube feed him once and then they gave me a syringe with some new food. Even though I wanted to, I can't afford that $800 vet bill. Also, don't believe everything you read on the internet about how to take care of budgies. It's not all true! I found out the diet I have had the birds on is BAD for them. Now, we have better food, but it might be too late.
He is really sick. He fell off his perch this morning and couldn't stand back up. Although, he has been active, happy, and eating a lot the past few weeks so I have no idea what happened.
This morning I asked my boss at my internship if I could leave and take him to the vet and she said yes, so I took him to the closest avian veterinarian.
I hope he doesn't die. I am so sad.
