I heart my friends and the weirdness of my life. Sunday was the best mix of BLAH and AWESOMENESS possible.
Bad: So I woke up on Sunday basically feeling like I had a hangover DESPITE the fact that I hadn't been drinking. Way to go, body. (Okay, in defense of my body, I had hella worked out the day before and taken a really hot bath afterwords without drinking even close to enough water). I was all puffy, my head hurt because I was dehydrated, the DIGITAL scale said I'd gained two pounds since yesterday, I burned the muffins I made for the boy, it was dark, I was cold, I was broke, life generally sucked, I had to bike by a squirrel with it's head run over on my way to BART, and then when I finally got to Daly City to meet up with the boy, we completely failed to communicate our locations to each other.
Good: But then...DICKENS FAIRE. It was cute and warm and all "my other life is a Renaissance fair." Boy bought me pasties (inedible but warm) and water and I bet him that we couldn't go 20 minutes without running into some one we know. Of course, I won. On a random weekend, with no forethought or planning, we wound up bumping into not one but a good half-dozen friends (one of whom was working the absinthe bar, and one was J-Rad, who I hadn't seen in months) at the very large DICKENS FAIRE. Go nerds.
Bad: The boy was like, let's go eat sushi in the city. But because it was Sunday, the sushi place was closed. So I was like, you have to take me to a BART station anyway, let's go to Powell and I know a really great Mexican place there. So we drove. And drove and drove and drove. And after 20 minutes, we'd gone in a circle. We were hungry and it was raining and I get carsick like nobody's business.
Good: We're finally on Market and I can't even finish saying "we should look for parking now" before we find the PERFECT SPOT. I mean, seriously rockstar parking. ON MARKET. And as we totter into the restaurant, we look behind the bar and see...J-RAD. That's right, the guy who I hadn't seen in months, I completely randomly, unintentionally see in two different places, which are pretty far apart, on the same day. And then he gave us AWESOME sipping tequila on the house, and the world was perfect.
The end.
