Boy, a person can begin to look as though he's not active on the site anymore if he does not keep up with his blog postings. I've been terrible at that I know, mostly because my grand love affair took a bad twist and turned into a mind-fuck instead. And it's difficult to know what to write and sound cogent when, pretty much by definition, you don't know what the hell is going on.
So I didn't write.
But here's a couple of pictures that *are* the very essence of knowing what's going on. Not only do I comfortably know what's going on, but all them ancient astronomer-types would know what's going on too. Which is sort of comforting.
In any case, here we have the pix, taken right at "high" noon, at my house (which was built facing due South) a few days ago on the very first day of Winter ( The Solstice ).

The day before, these sun rays were moving further into the house. The day after, they will begin to recede, until by mid-Spring they will have withdrawn so far that they don't even enter the house at all. I got a mark on the rug with a marker pen from this same day last year. And here it was again, right on the money.
When a person is taken by their troubles or concerns, stuff like this tends to ground us again, if only for a bit. Or at least it does for me.
And sometimes a bit is good.
This post will seem dated soon enough, but for those friends from the boards who may read it around the time it was posted, I'm wishing us all a good Christmas, and a good new year to come.

Yataiki was so special, without a shred of pretense. I was fortunate in the extreme to have had the opportunities to interact with him that I did and am deeply grateful always. I think you would have enjoyed him immensely.
